The current intended-use position for Micrensa’s malaria microscopy software.
01 / INTENDED USE
Research quantification
Plasmodium Finder is intended to support laboratory research involving the acquisition and object-counting of ring-stage Plasmodium falciparum in thick and thin blood-smear microscopy images.
The software combines a smartphone acquisition application, an on-device object-counting model, and a web workspace for viewing and exporting research results.
02 / CLINICAL-USE LIMITATION
Not intended for clinical use
Plasmodium Finder is offered for research use only. It is not intended for clinical diagnosis, screening, patient management, treatment decisions, or any other diagnostic procedure.
Research outputs from the software must not be used as the basis for clinical decisions.
03 / RESEARCH RESPONSIBILITY
Use within an approved research context
Users are responsible for ensuring that the software and its outputs are used only for research and are not relied upon for clinical or patient-care decisions.
Users are also responsible for ensuring that their use of the software, microscopy images, records and exported results is consistent with their institution’s research protocols, data-handling requirements and applicable rules.
Access, support, data handling and commercial conditions may be further defined in the agreement between Micrensa and the subscribing laboratory or institution.
